Will do business with you again, book arrived on time.Thanks.. Gene & Cathy Florence's Glass Candlesticks Of The Depression Era, Volume 2: Identification And Value provides a secondary volume of addition candles collected since the author's first volume, presenting the same easy organization by maker and the fine color photos which lend to quick identification. The photos are great and I believe this book is valuable to those just getting into collecting candlesticks from this era.. If you have a chance to spend some time with this book it will be time well spent.. However, I expected to see many more pictures of candlesticks than are offered in this book. Depressingly few photos especially since it is about William Kent and his works.. It would be difficult to read this front to back due to the quantity of information, but is certainly a great reference for his career. After viewing some of the original artwork in this book when visiting the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York City, I purchased this beautiful book. The only problem is its size, which prevents you bringing it around to show off the beatiful pictures in it. This is a wonderful book! It looks like a picture booka secondary volume of addition candles collected since the author's first volume, presenting the same easy organization by maker and the fine color photos which lend to quick identification. From patterns and color notes to sizes and valuation, Glass Candlesticks, Volume 2 is a pick any owner of Volume 1 needs. -Midwest Book ReviewFirst writing a book on Depression Glass, Florence has gone on to author many popular glassware titles including books on Depression Glass; Occupied Japan Collectibles; Kitchen Glassware; Very Rare Glassware; 40s, 50s, & 60s Glassware;Elegant Glassware; Stemware; Glassware Pattern Identification; Anchor Hocking's Fire-King; Glass Candlesticks; and Salt & Pepper Shakers.Cathy Florence, graduated with honors and a coveted voice award from high school, attended Georgetown College where she obtained a French major and an English minor, then married her middle-school sweetheart Gene Florence.
. A collector since childhood, Gene Florence's hobby of buying and sellinThe Florences have compiled this second volume to once again help identify the candlestick patterns made from the Depression era to modern day. The descriptive text for each candleholder includes pattern, maker, color, height, and current collector value. For simplicity of use this book is arranged according to color: amber, black, blue, crystal, green, iridescent, multicolor, pink, purple, red, smoke, white, and yellow. With no repeated shots from the authors' first volume, more than 500 different candlesticks are shown in full color, dozens never before seen in any other book. Many famous glassmakers are represented, such as Heisey, Indiana, Cambridge, Fostoria, Westmoreland, and Tiffin. A helpful index and bibliography are also provided.
