It introduces you to dyeing and dying textile traditions. She tells you where to go, when to visit and where to stay for the most rewarding textile journey. This is a very beautiful book, the full page botanical and insect illustrations are superb.I purchased this book as a Christmas present for my daughter who is a medical herbalist,but would really rather like to keep it for myself!Glennis.. The book would also make a great coffee table book as the pictures are worth viewing over and over.. Thank you for this important book!. This book was published not only as a catalogue for the great exhibition "Splendors of Imperial China", also as a collection of excellent articles by leading scholars in the field of Chinese art and cultural history. As a travel guide, the information is straight forward and easy to follow. This book is fine for those interested in literature, but if you are wanting info about insects don't buy it.. I particularly appreciated the "Guide to Ethical Shopping," a thoughtful reminder of the long-term consequences of excessive bargaining. I have actually framed several of the prints which are adorning my living room wall.
