Working with Children Who Stutter will undoubtedly become one of the classic introductory texts on stuttering.  The author is clearly an expert–both in the realm of understanding the scientific bases of stuttering, but also in the art of clinical application.  That fact comes through in every chapter.  I see this text supplanting other standard text in the field.  Students, and instructors, will appreciate the clear writing and logical organization of topics.   Perhaps one of the main strengths of this book, however, is the “fair and balanced” presentation of varying treatment approaches.  It is hard to pigeonhole this author in terms of treatment bias–and that is how it should be for an introductory text!  She should be congratulated for creating an excellent, cogent, survey text… I’m certain it will become a highly recognized book in the area of stuttering.  The availability of various books dealing with stuttering is quit
