The author includes a a brief biographical sketch on each musician as there is an extensive bibliography, black and white photographs, and functional appendices. Here, the perceptions of performing artists and music educators from several selected are evident that the full potentials of these artists have been altered primarily because of ethnicity. However, these artists persevered and were able to turn a negative force into becoming the greatest under the circumstances of sheer ignorance and fearBut I found this text demanding a little prior knowledge and sometimes you are left wondering where this comes from.This book is extremely comprehensive. Be prepared for strong opinions and a decidedly Eurocentric point of view, but also enjoy a tale of heroes and charlatans and some of the best writing ever on the subject. I find blank pages at page 36, which would contain the first three propositions of Book II (a minor but real loss), and at the back of the book there are three pages missing that would contain tables of logarithmic sines and tangents for 1 degree, for 43 degrees, and for 45 degrees.The cover design of the book is as shown in the amazon photos. As with all the other airlife books, there is a detailed accident/incident list at the end in addition to the complete production list.This is a great book about a great airliner.
